I think his affections for others has caused him to forget that affection for God must drive our sense of other. It is only because man is in the image of God that he has value. Not because I or some other human likes him. If God has insisted that the wages of sin are death then to assume that anything else is true is to deny the God of the Bible. I question the one who says God would or could not do anything He has said; Are you judging God? I pray Mr. McLaren will read Job 40 and 41. I find it ironic that it is the Jesus of the Bible that inspires so many and yet they will not have all of Him, only what they want.

This guy wants forgiveness with no consequences for the offense.
This sounds like an absolute denial that the offense of sin is any offense at all to God.
And to think that there are thousands of protestant-evangelical church leaders who love this guy's books and teachings!
