Rob Bell Says "God Believes in Us"

"God believes in us, in you, in me. I mean faith in Jesus is important, but what about Jesus' faith in us?" -Rob Bell

Below is a video critiquing Rob Bell's views.

Do we really need a guy like Rob Bell distorting the truth and confusing multitudes?

Maybe he is necessary, after all the Word says in 1 Corinthians 11:19:

"For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you."

This guy's man-centered faith is shocking.

He is actually going so far as to say that even Christ places faith in man.

The question is rather what is the center. Christ does have faith in His people because He is in them and they are His Body. I don't know this preacher well enough to say what he means by what he is saying, but I must say Christ does not deny Himself (II Timothy 2:13) ands He is sufficient to complete the work He has began in us. If in Christ I am a new creation,is that new creation He has made of no value? I can and must say with one breath, 'oh wretched man that I am', but with the next say, 'I can be more than a conqueror through Him who strengthens me.'

Kenny, I have been going through your site - good job! Thanks for holding to the truth of God's Word. Those who understand the dangers of the mystical/emergent movement must not be silent regardless of the criticism of those who promote a false unity.

Your art is beautiful. My mother was a painter too, so I know talent when I see it.

May God richly bless and reward you.

I often think Rob simply says things that appeal to what people want to hear.

the irony is this...you argue the point that God believes in us. Yet you (I hope) were once called to follow Jesus, you were called to lead a group of people, and you obviously felt called to preach this message. So this means that you believe that God entrusted you with something...I normally don't entrust things to people that I don't have faith in or believe in. I don't agree with everything that Rob Bell says, but if God doesn't believe in me...hasn't chosen me...then I am hopeless. The question is this...do I have enough faith in 'me' to know that God can do stuff through me.
