Dangers Foretold

“I consider that the chief dangers which confront the coming century will be religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and heaven without hell.”

--William Booth (1829-1912)

Wow! I guess he most likely would not be too surprised at the state of the church in the US and UK today.

Great quote. And as a matter of fact, when I hear what's coming from the pulpits today, I often feel like he looks in that picture. :-)

History repeating itself all over again! No, he would not be surprised at the state of churchianity in the USA or UK nowadays, because he expected it.
I hate the pop psychology mixed with theology. The professionalism of dramatic or theatrical type presentations in churches, like the music or interpretive dance or drama, gets annoying sometimes too. You wish they would mess up once in a while! Some of the Sunday School teachers are polite and polished too. Sometimes you wish they would simply be human, maybe look uglier, maybe break down and admit they struggle. Those are some of my pet peeves, maybe Kenny feels the same about some of them.
