INCLUSIVE CONVERSATION

According to Tony Jones, all kinds of perspectives are part of the Emergent "conversation". A conversation which is attempting to redefine our christian faith, I might add.

"Within Emergent are Texas Baptists who don't allow women to preach and New England lesbian Episcopal priests. We have Southern California YWAMers and Midwest Lutherans. We have those who hold to biblical inerrancy, and others trying to demythologize the scripture. We have environmental, peacenik lefties, "crunchy cons," and right wing hawks."

--Tony Jones, Is Emergent the New Christian Left? Tony Jones responds to the critics, May 23, 2006

You can read the post HERE.

This is another example of unity being more highly esteemed than doctrinal truth. This is one of the biggest problems with the Emergent church crowd.

How can you have lesbians and those challenging the authority of scripture as part of your so called "christian" conversation... even worse, a conversation questioning the fundamental beliefs of the christian faith?

The more I read on the Emergent church the more apostate they appear to be becoming.

We need to pray the Holy Spirit will open christians' eyes to the many errors in the Emergent movement.

Our church recently studied the Book of Nehemiah. Sanballat requested that Nehemiah stop his work in order to have a conversation. Nehemiah, knowing that his work was approved by God, refused to have that conversation with Sanballat and his friends! And that decision was considered the right thing to do ...

Yes the Emergent movement is indeed Apostate. My husband and I are looking for a new church. It is so frustrating because this stuff is even in some of the more "conservative" churches (although not as bad as what we left). But it is bothersome that there are those who have actually read McLaren and don't see that he is a false teacher. I saw is from the first book I read of his.
These are not good days for the Church. I am very disturbed at the embracing of this stuff in my county here in the Chicago suburbs.

Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
