Hey, saw you linked on sliceoflaodicea. Kudos to you for answering the emergent church onslaught that makes me want to puke.

Can you make your logo smaller? It's kinda... huge.

Also, I know your point was to counter the emergent logo, but can you offer versions in other colors that don't look so similar to it?

Thanks again!

Hi,
I really like you blog, just found it today! Can I just make one comment here? After a quick surface skimming I am agreement with you on everything that I see here and I like it. Having my own little discernment blog, I can appreciate all the time invested to do it well. However, having studied occult symbolism I thought I should mention that this revamped eye symbol, though well intentioned, reminds me abit too much of the the all seeing Eye of Horus(ancient Egyptian and Masonic symbol). Check it out. Other than that, looks great and I will be a frequent visitor.

yup...that's the occult eye...eye of Horus...no doubt about. Horus is the egyptian sun god...aka as Lucifer....check out Time Warners new logo...and then look on the back of your dollar bill too.....suggest back to the drawing board....

check it out:

tm,
I have to let you know that although I respect your comments on the fact that this logo is similar to the ones from the occult that you're describing, this IS NOT the same as the ones you're describing. This logo was designed with a simple graphic style much like the emergent logo was designed for the purpose of looking similar to the emergent logo and looking like the letter "d" just as the emergent leaf makes the letter "e".

Yes, I agree that it does not appear to be exactly the same to a well trained discerning 'eye'. The similarity caught my eye, however. Perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned it?

Keith, do you think it is sad that creativity only came in opposition to somebody else's idea? Maybe people have more of a voice if they weren't shabby rip-off artists.

Kevin, this logo is nothing more than a sort of parody to the emergent logo.

As far as creativity goes I don't think Keith has anything to prove to anyone. That's not what we're here for.

The church is under heavy attack from the enemy and christians need to be discerning and anything which could help in this cause to counter the attack could be an asset.

I don't care for the emergent logo because it looks too eco-friendly. But folks this does look like something out of Egyptian hieroglyphics.

I'd like it in either blue or red. I was thinking along the same lines...same logo as is, maybe just a different color. But I'll use it as it is. =)

I like the "D" for discernment.

Wonder if some who think its occultic would rather us use a brain diagram? ; )

Hi thinkerup...While it is understood clearly that the similarity to any occultic symbology is purely unintentional, the fact is that anybody who is at all familar with these things will instantly recognize the all-seeing eye, and it's connection with the things of darkness.

In raising an objection nothing more is in any way implied nor is their any intention to criticize. Maybe I can use a scripture here to help express where I would be coming from on this one, and that would simply be this:

1Th 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

That's where I'll hold my peace, and say no more, It's not my business. Apparently I'm in the minority on this one, and that's okay and thanks for still keeping the discussion open. I do apologize as my first post seemed to be a bit of a hit and run. It was reactive. Press on, press on.

Watch and pray always...Luke 21:36 TM

I would LOVE to use this logo on my blog. We Presbyterians are fighting this same battle and I stand with you against this rising tide of error.

I could not find your e-mail anywhere. You can find mine on my blog.
