Leaving the dramatics of the sermon aside it seems as though this person believes that a person is not really a 'true christian' until they have been taught doctrine several weeks by an elder first. Of course, this may not be the case, but when a person overgeneralized as much as is done in these types of sermons they will often let their emotions get the best of them and swing so far the other direction that they either miss the truth in the other direction, or they are so focused at pointing out the mistakes of others that they never really tell what they really believe is true.
