This is an important warning posted on Lighthouse Trails Research blog regarding Rob Bell.

Here is an excerpt:

"Christian schools and youth groups are presenting the Nooma films to their youth, and many of these groups are having teens read Velvet Elvis. Because Bell promotes and teaches New Age mystical practices in a Christian context, young people may accept these teachings as biblical Christianity. And when trusted teachers are presenting this material, both teens and parents alike may be caught off guard."

Yes, I listened to Bell's "sermon". What kookiness happens at "church" nowadays. He has the congregation write a few things that bug them on a piece of paper, and then they all breathe deep in and blow on the paper while asking God to inhabit their breath and touch the things on the paper.

Anger, sadness, and disbelief were my combined emotions.

YIKES! This is a great danger to our teens .... I'm putting the word out.

Those Nooma videos are great marketing ~ on the road to nowhere. I've watched them and read the booklets that go with each one. They're high quality hip; but they don't say much. Lots of show and NO go. There is no Biblical bite in them, just puff, sports fans.

The churches are probably looking at the great packaging, without thinking the stuff through.

I know this is not the place for this general format comment but . . .

Your blog layout has the right sidebar not showing up until after the last post at the bottom of the page. Surely this is not intentional.
